2017 Beauty Favourites

I feel like 2017 was definitely the year that I discovered exactly what I like in beauty/makeup products, I stopped wasting money on products that I 'may' wear or like and instead invested in some high end pieces that I treasure and adore.

First up is a brand that I've loved all throughout 2017 and that is Charlotte Tilbury, everything from the luxe packaging to the way the products apply and feel and the longevity of them has had me investing in lots of new beautiful makeup pieces from them in 2017.

In my 2017 faves we have 4 Charlotte Tilbury products, I will be doing a 'brand focus' post soon where I will be showcasing my collection and giving an in depth review of each item so I won't dabble on too much in this post.

First we have the oh-so-beautiful Instant Eye Palette, each shade of this is highly pigments and very wearable and so for this reason it is 100% worth the investment. Next we have her lip products, I have adored both the traditional lipsticks and liquid lipsticks that were released i 2017 - each a beautiful shade and each as long wearing on the lips. And last but certainly not least the magic foundation, after being a drugstore foundation gal for years I took the plunge in 2017 and tried the magic foundation and it is incredible! my skin has never looked so radiant, glowing & flawless.

Next up in makeup we have the NARS creamy concealer, another high end purchase for 2017 and one i'll continue to repurchase as we head into 2018 as this is incredible. This is something thats been on my radar for years, ever since I stumbled across an early Tanya Burr video on YT and so this is something I've wanted for a very long time. This instantly lifts up the under eye area and adds a subtle glow to even the dullest of skin days, it is definitely worth the hype.

We also have the Urban Decay troublemaker mascara, this has had a range of mixed reviews since its launch but I love it. The brush captures all of my lashes (top and bottom) and it really does last all day, in all situations. Very handy when you live in the UK and a thunderstorm is always just around the corner!

And lastly for makeup bits and pieces is the Tanya Burr cosmetics bronzer/blusher palette, having being a TB subscriber for years I had high hopes for this and it didn't disappoint. The formula/shades are very similar to NARS compacts and for a fraction of the price - I would highly recommend these palettes.

Skincare is something I really invested into in 2017, having now found products that work for my skin and a 'routine' that I'm happy with.

In 2017 I became a brand ambassador for Magnitone which was very exciting as I'm a huge fan of their products! So naturally my first favourite is their Rose Gold Barefaced cleansing brush - how beautiful does this look? this has completely transformed the texture of my skin in 2017, smoothing out any bumps and help minimise the appearance of scarring from previous breakouts - if you haven't already tried a cleansing brush I'd highly recommend this one.

Next we have the Clinique take the day off balm, I am very late to this party! Using this and my Magnitone barefaced daily has helped to transform my skin, this is also amazing for removing eye makeup without irritating the eyes.

In terms of masks I have been loving the Antipodes Aura honey mask, so much so that I use this as much as I can! It's gentle, hydrating and soothing for the skin and the perfect addition to a pamper evening.

For moisturisers I've been using the Clinique Moisture Surge gel, before using this my skin was ridiculously dry and I dread to think how much money I wasted on products that did not work at all for me. After a busy weekend in London, I picked this up in duty free to try and I've been obsessed since. It's lightweight but super hydrating so I've been using this as my night cream.

I used to be terrible at remembering eye cream but due to spending copious amounts of time at a computer each day i've came to learn its importance. My fave eye cream in 2017 was without a doubt the Kiehls avocado eye cream, it really does live up to the hype! It's hydrating, soothing and a dream to apply.

2017 was a year of embracing self care and making sure I take time out of each week to enjoy a pamper session, and so Lush bath bombs are my first favourite. There's something very satisfying about sitting in a colourful bath of glitter and pretty scents!

For Christmas, Dan very kindly gave me the Laura Mercier creme brûlée honey bath - something that has been on my wishlist since I can remember! This is the most luxurious and gorgeous bath product I've ever tried and I shall cherish this throughout 2018!

In December I tried the Snow Fairy body conditioner from Lush for the first time and it was dreamy! Gals, this leaves your legs SO smooth after shaving. When this is empty, I think i'll try Ro's Argan to see how it compares.

And for body moisturisers I've loved The Righteous Butter from S&G - there's something about the pretty, girly scent that I absolutely love and its super hydrating which is a bonus.

Lastly, for perfumes I've loved Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream - this is a sentimental fragrance for me and one I tend to wear for special occasions so I love it.

In 2017 I took some time out of blogging to move house and throughout that time I started reading blogs a lot more, here are my favourite beauty bloggers from 2017:
